Chaka Khan

Chaka, or Queen of Funk as she is often referred to, was an American singer-songwriter. She has won 10 Grammys over her entire career spanning over 50 years. Also, she has been ranked as the 65th most successful ever dance artist in the history of Billboard magazine. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a very young stage by her maternal grandmother. Her career began by performing with different bands. In the future she joined of a band called Rufus. The album she released was her debut as a member of the band at age of twenty. A year later, they received their very first Grammy. Her self-titled debut album just a couple of years following her solo debut. Then she released a number of albums over the years, including 'Echoes for an Era", 'The Woman I Am', and "Funk This.". In addition to her contribution to music, she's also gained reputation as a charitable persona. Chaka Khan Foundation, which was founded by her to help children and adults with Autism and families in need. Khan was also an actress on occasion. She played Sister Carrie, the lead role in the musical "Mama, I'd Like To Sing'. Chaka Chaka Chaka
